About
Pro Video Training
PVT
was formed to help educate anyone working in, or wanting to work
in, the field of professional video production. Through the website
and various ongoing seminars and workshops, PVT will be teaching
everything from basic video production skills to the administrative
side of the business including sales, marketing, and customer service.
Virtually everything from A to Z will be covered somewhere in the
curriculum and/or supporting materials. Finally, one location that
can provide all of your training needs.
About
the founder
In
1996, Kirk Barber moved to San Diego and started a video production
business. He had no business or personal contacts in the area, no
prior experience in the video industry, no job, and only a little
money to start with. In the first year of business he was able to
book 26 weddings and several various other projects. Over the next
few years, he received several national awards for his video work,
presented his first video seminar at a conference, served as president
of the local videographer association and represented them at the
national convention. In 2003, Kirk presented his first seminar at
WEVA, a professional videographer convention that hosts over 2,000
attendees each year.
Kirk
has been featured on radio station My94.1 fm and television stations
KNSD-NBC7/39, KXAN 36, KGW, and the MSNBC network regarding video
production. He has produced videos for both My94.1 and the San Diego
Union-Tribune. His satisfied clients have included NCR, The Ken
Blanchard Companies, Dr. Laura Schlessinger Foundation, University
of California-San Diego, La Jolla Music Society, Office Depot, Dorsey
and Whitney, Quintiles, and BRE to name a few.
Kirk's
credits his rapid success to the education he sought out early on.
He strongly believes in learning as much as you can, where ever
and when ever you can. His desire to give back to the industry,
that has done so much for him, is the reason for the development
of Pro Video Training program.
